The Basics Of Cricket!

During lock-down I made this slide on the Basics of Cricket. I hope you enjoy it and find it useful! Have you played Cricket before?

  1. Thanks Abe for sharing. I learnt heaps! I did not realise that cricket was such an old sport. I liked your diagrams to help explain the LBW rule. Do you play cricket? Do you like to watch cricket on sports TV? Do you have a favourite cricket player? or team?

  2. Hi Abe,
What a fabulous slideshow on cricket! I've played my fair share of backyard cricket, but i'm no expert so I really enjoyed learning some interesting facts. There was so much great information in your slide, would it possible to slow down the slide transitions to give the reader more time to read each bit?

  3. Hi Abe. Great job. This is a thorough over view of the game - and adding the videos would be helpful to someone wanting more details. The LBW graphic was really specific and clear. One thing you could consider is a glossary of terms. You could put it at the end, but maybe add a link. Particularly on slide 3 where you use a lot of technical terms and put them in speech marks. Another thing you could add is a link to local cricket clubs incase anyone gets inspired and wants to find out more. Great job.

  4. Hi Abe, Well I did find that interesting. Cricket isn’t my thing as I don’t really understand it.On saying that we use to play it in our backyard when I was young.
I’m glad you’re so passionate about cricket. I often hear you talking to Sharon about it.
Is professional cricket something you would like to in the future?

  5. Wow Abe, I haven’t played cricked in years. Watching this made me realise I’d forgotten half the rules. So I did learn a lot. Thank you. You’ve made me feel heaps more confident.
Is your backyard big enough to play cricket and have you and your family played during lockdown?
